Easter Eggstravaganza at The National Forest Adventure Farm

Easter Egg-stravaganza at Matlock Farm Park
29 Mar – 14 Apr
Spring is in the air at Matlock Farm Park, as they welcome new animal additions and look forward to many more! Along with piglets and Romeo the calf which visitors have enjoyed meeting, the next couple of weeks will see the birth of more fluffy chicks, ducklings and lambs. Staff will also be welcoming cade lambs, donated by neighbouring farms, which will require bottle feeding and lots of tender care.
Over the Easter holidays, visitors can enjoy daily 'Meet the Cade Lambs' sessions to learn more about their needs, have the opportunity to pet the lambs and watch them being fed. There'll be daily Easter treasure trails for families to enjoy and Easter weekend will see the ever popular Matlock Farm Park Easter Egg Hunts and exciting 'Find the Golden Egg' feature. With special events also on over the Bank Holiday weekend, featuring The Snow Sisters, Circus Skills Workshops and 'Learn to be a Pirate', as well as lots of fabulous interactive animal and playtime fun, there's a whole array of seasonal fun to be had at Matlock Farm Park!
Try your hand at Blacksmithing

Easter Adventures at Hardwick Hall

Enjoy uncovering the different activity trail stations inspired by the creativity of the Hardwick collections, nature in the gardens & parkland, and good old-fashioned Easter fun - once the kids have raced from each activity, encourage them to plant a seed at the very last stop and pick up their prize! £3 per child (for both members and non-members).

Easter Adventure Quest at Bolsover Castle
23 Mar – 14 Apr
Hunt for clues in the castle grounds, track down the Easter eggs and get rewarded with a tasty chocolate treat. You can take on the quest every day of the school holidays, and it costs just £2 to take part. From 6 Apr the kids can also get creative with master builders and help bring history to life with LEGO® bricks.
Enjoy a Canal Cruise onboard Birdswood
30 – 31 Mar
Cruise along the Cromford Canal cruises onboard the Birdswood narrow boat. Trips restart this year on Easter Saturday and on Easter Sunday there is a special guided “Heritage” trip. All details can be found on the website birdswood.org/bookings/
Dinosaur Egg Trail at Coombes Valley Nature Reserve
23 Mar – 7 Apr
Armed with the dinosaur’s explorers trail find the 7 dinosaur eggs hidden in the woods around our self-guided trail. Tell us where the eggs are and when you’ve found out which dinosaur laid which egg then pick up your reward from the visitor centre. £4.20 per child.
Easter Trails at Carsington Water and Tittesworth Water

The Easter Bunny has left a trail of eggs and needs your help to find them all. Follow the trail to find all the eggs and answer the questions to collect a prize (non-chocolate alternative prize available). £3 per trail sheet.
Cheadle Moon - Celestial celebrations, Museum of the Moon at St Giles the Abbot
5 Mar – 5 Apr
To mark the 80th anniversary of Mary Adela Blagg’s death, Mary lived her entire life in Cheadle and her groundbreaking work mapping the moon saw her become one of the first women admitted into the Royal Astronomical Society. The amazing touring moon installation by UK artist Luke Jerram will be installed in the nave of the church. Admission to Museum of the Moon is free of charge but tickets need to be booked in advance.
Step back in time on a heritage walk through Belper

Easter Egg Hunt at Biddulph Gardens

Follow the fun family friendly activity trail through the garden filled with activities for young and older. Easter on the Thornbridge Estate
Visit the beautiful Thornbridge Estate near Bakewell for an egg-citing Easter extravaganza. Over the two-week Easter holidays, from 29th March to 14th April, there'll be family fun and entertainment for all.
