Easter in the Peak District arrives quietly at first — lighter mornings, lambs in the fields, the first proper warmth in the sun. Hop over to the Thornbridge estate for their Easter Eggstravaganza with crafts, games, and garden trails. Expect decorated eggs hidden throughout the grounds, plus hands-on activities that keep children busy all day long.

At Chatsworth, the gardens transform into a playground of seasonal activity. Easter trails: follow the clues and claim your prize

There’s plenty of Easter trails and Egg Hunts across Derbyshire this Easter, here’s some of our favourites

  • Chatsworth Easter Egg Hunt, Join the hunt for hidden chocolate eggs around the Farmyard.
  • Over at Calke Abbey, children follow Peggy the Portland Sheep through the grounds, stopping at activity points along the way before collecting your chocolate reward at the end.
  • Hop along for some waterside fun at Carsington Water with a classic Easter egg trail around Stone’s Island. It’s an easy, open walk — ideal for scooters, bikes, or little legs that need space to roam.
  • If you’re staying closer to the city, don your bunny ears and follow this family-friendly egg hunt at Kedleston Hall combine parkland exploring with a fun activity for all the family, ending, as all good Easter trails should, with chocolate.
  • Discover the Easter Egg Hunt at Hardwick Hall, step into a world of tradition and play, and celebrate Easter Adventures at this impressive National Trust property.
  • Ilam Park kicks off it’s 200 years of Ilam Hall celebrations. Travel back in time to play, create and build on this fun filled Easter trail!
  • Explore the pretty town of Bakewell and follow the Bakewell Bunny Trail. A fun-filled scavenger hunt leading families around the town of Bakewell in search of the Easter Bunny! Collect the letters, crack the code and claim your prize!
