75th Anniversary Ranger Walk - Bamford Moor

Bronze Age Life and Death on Bamford Moor - Saturday 25 April

A 6 mile walk up through an ancient oak forest up to Bamford Edge, take in the stunning views over Ladybower and Win Hill from the Edge and explore the Bronze Age remains on Bamford Moor including the less well-known but well-preserved stone circle on Hordron Edge.

• Event Grade: Moderate - sometimes rough and uneven ground and gradients.
• Event Terrain: Not pushchair nor wheelchair friendly.
• Start: 9:30am  Finish: 3:00pm    Please arrive early, the car park gets very busy.
• Meeting Point: Heatherdene Car Park. Off A6013 opposite Ladybower Reservoir.

• Near Bus Route: Yes. 257 Sheffield to Bakewell Bus stops here.  NB: Email customer.service@peakdistrict.gov.uk in advance if you plan to use this service and we will wait for the bus.
• Near Rail Station: Yes. Bamford Station (2.3 miles)
• Dogs: Sorry, the moor owner has banned dogs.
• Cost: £15 per person aged 18 and above. Those under 18 who are good walkers can attend at no charge but still need to book a place.
