Looking for a fun family day out this Easter? Midland Railway – Butterley is hosting a seasonal adventure with its popular Easter Egg Trail!
From Good Friday to Easter Monday (3–6 April), visitors can climb aboard the special Butterley Easter Train at Butterley Station and enjoy a nostalgic journey through the Derbyshire countryside. Alight at Swanwick Junction to take part in the Easter Egg Trail around the Midland Railway site – and keep an eye out for the Easter Bunny along the way.*
Children travelling on the train will receive a gift from the Easter Bunny, while adults can enjoy a complimentary hot drink in Deeley’s Tea Room.
The day also offers plenty to explore at Swanwick Junction’s Museum Complex, including the children’s play area, the Victorian Railwayman’s Church*, the West Shed and the Country Park. Additional attractions may be open during the event.
Complete the experience with a heritage train ride aboard one of Midland Railway – Butterley’s Diesel Multiple Units, offering a taste of how travel used to be.
Free parking is available at Butterley Station
