Family Christmas Decorations Workshop with Artist Lise Bennett

Join us for a fun and super creative Family workshop using wire to create your very own Christmas decorations to take home!

Join us at Shining Cliff Hostel, the perfect backdrop for an immersive artistic experience. This workshop offers you the chance to unwind, connect with nature, and tap into your creative side for the afternoon.

Lise is a Neighbourhood Creative Agent and the session is funded by the Arts Council; we just ask for a donation towards the hire cost of Shining Cliff hostel.

Shining Cliff hostel is located in the heart of Shining Cliff woods near Ambergate, and is only accessible by foot along woodland footpaths. It is possible to walk up through the woods from the train station or bus stops at Ambergate, or to walk down to the hostel from the private woodland car park, which is half a mile away from the hostel. Directions are provided on booking.

Owing to the location of Shining Cliff hostel, it is necessary for participants to be able to walk along uneven and sloping woodland footpaths to get to the hostel.

The workshop will take place in the open plan lounge & dining area with fantastic views out onto the ancient woodland.

Occasionally a session is cancelled at short notice if there are high winds/thunderstorms forecast. If the session is cancelled for weather conditions you will be fully refunded.

On booking the workshop you will receive a confirmation email and a link to the directions for the session. Please follow these directions if you have not been to the hostel before, as satnav will take you to the wrong side of the woods! You will get a reminder of the directions a few days before the event.

If you are unable to attend after purchasing a ticket, we can refund your ticket (minus the Eventbrite processing fee)if it is more than 7 days before the workshop, but we are unable to refund tickets 7 days or fewer before the workshop.

It is possible to extend your experience in this stunning woodland by booking a bed at the hostel for just £25 per adult/night and £15/child.

It is possible to book a private bedroom on the Sunday night. The hostel has 5 bedrooms available, all with bunk beds. You can request a room to yourself, or if you are booking with friends, there are 2-bed, 4-bed and 6-bed rooms available to book.

If you add a room booking at Shining Cliff hostel you will receive a Welcome Pack that includes information on accessing the hostel and what you need to bring with you.
