About
21st February 2026
11:00 am - 2:30 pm
Learning from Derbyshire Dyer Olivia, you will discover the beauty of natural colour and the basic concepts for creating long-lasting, botanical colour. She will lead you through an exploration of ancient dyestuff found all around the world, with examples of just a handful of the beautiful colours you can achieve. Once these basics are covered the fun part will begin! Turning your hand to dyeing techniques including shibori, eco-printing and bundle dyeing, you will print & dye your own silk headscarf and cotton purse.
The sessions are beginner friendly and outcomes will be led by your own creativity, with guidance from Olivia's expert eye. Intimate group size of only 8 participants. Key information: This will be a 3.5 hour session, with a 30 minute break for lunch. (Refreshments won't be provided so participants are free to leave the studio during our lunch break).
All materials and equipment will be provided. Basic sewing skills are useful (a simple running stitch), but aren't necessary.
