Stanage Edge: Austen & Bronte Guided Walk

A guided walk with Peak Walking Adventures to the 'Kiera Knightley' Rock

About

12th June 2025 - 13th June 2025 12:00 am

Jane Austen wrote, “There is not a finer county in England than Derbyshire.” We celebrate the 250th anniversary of her birth with a guided walk on Stanage Edge — the stunning gritstone escarpment where Keira Knightley surveyed the wild moorland landscape as Lizzie Bennet in the 2005 film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. The walk also passes Thornfield Hall, associated with Charlotte Brontë’s masterpiece, Jane Eyre. A wonderful half-day walk with exceptional views and rich literary history.
