Victorian Train Weekend at Midland Railway Butterley

Step back to the Victorian era and experience the sights, sounds and atmosphere of early railway travel at Midland Railway – Butterley.

Across the weekend, heritage trains and beautifully restored carriages will be in operation, recreating the look and feel of a bygone age. Costumed volunteers will help bring the period to life, adding to the immersive experience as you explore the railway and wider site.

Visitors can enjoy rides behind historic rolling stock, take in the unique character of Victorian travel, and spend the day discovering everything the site has to offer. With plenty to see and do, it’s the perfect opportunity to experience the railway as it might have been over a century ago.
