Christmas at Longshaw

Embrace winter festivities at this special time of year - with lots happening in 2025.

Our Christmas Tree sales get underway on 22 November, and for many families buying a tree with us has become a cherished tradition.

Create special memories at our Breakfast with Santa event. This usually sells out quickly, so please book eary (more details are below).

Our café will be serving seasonal warm lunches and hot drinks, where you can see far-reaching views across to Millstone Edge and Higger Tor!

Longshaw Christmas Tree Sales

22 November - 21 December

For more than fifty years Longshaw has been selling Christmas trees and people come from far and wide, to select their special tree and mark the start of the festivities.

Our trees are carefully selected by our expert rangers and every tree sold supports the vital conservation work we do in the Peak District. The trees are a mixture of species, including varieties which don't drop their needles.

Every winter, the Moorland Discovery Centre turns into a festive grotto with Christmas trees and decorations for sale.

Coming early in the season is advised so you can have the pick of the best.

Festive Wreath Making at Longshaw

6, 12 & 13 December

Create a beautiful traditional handmade wreath, with the help of our friendly tutors. We’ll supply natural materials gathered from around Longshaw for you to create your festive masterpiece to take home.

There are morning and afternoon sessions in the Moorland Discovery Centre. Wreath making materials, light refreshments and festive music are included.
