The Route
Our journey begins gently along the famous Pennine Way, gradually immersing us in the enchanting scenery. As we ascend steeply up Jacob’s Ladder, prepare to be swept back in time by the ancient packhorse route and the boundary marker at Edale Cross.

Highlights Along the Way

  • Noe Stool: Marvel at the giant boulders that punctuate the landscape.
  • The Pagoda: A striking rock formation that beckons adventurers.
  • The Woolpacks: Traverse an impressive sprawl of weathered boulders, resembling mythical creatures frozen in time.
  • Crowden Tower: Experience panoramic views as we navigate along the rim of the plateau.
  • Grindslow Knoll: Our final peak before descending steeply back to the charming village of Edale, where a welcoming pub awaits.

This unforgettable walk offers an iconic journey through one of the UK's most celebrated landscapes.

Distance: 13km/8 miles (approximately)
Ascent: 550m
Time: 6 hours+ including breaks and lunchtime
Start/finish: Edale

Terrain
Steep paths and rocky sections on the ascent, descent and along the edge, and the section through the Woolpacks can be particularly boggy following wet weather.

This event is for adults only. You’ll need a good level of fitness to complete this route but we’ll walk at a conversational pace and take breaks. Dogs are welcome if they are well-behaved and kept on a lead at all times - this is to protect the local wildlife and livestock, as well as your dog from getting lost.
