Matlock to Bonsall walk

This beautiful 4.3 mile route from the bus stop takes you out across open countryside on field paths to the pretty village of Bonsall, offering magnificent views along the way.
Access this walk from Matlock bus station which offers great links for the Trentbarton sixes and Stagecoach X17. With an offering of woodland and cosy villages, you can really settle into the festive period seeking beautiful views and hopefully snow topped trees after some snowfall!
Hathersage to Stanage Edge walk

A 9 mile walk from the village of Hathersage up onto Stanage Edge and back, with superb views of the Derwent and Hope Valleys, Mam Tor and Kinder Scout.
With superb views across the Derwent and Hope Valleys, you can experience winter in all of its glory. Famously known for a scene in Pride & Prejudice, travellers from across the world stand where Kiera Knightly stood at Stanage Edge. Grab the 271/272 High Peak bus to the quaint village of Hathersage where you will start your walk!
Tissington Trail
Trails Hartington to Tissington Walk
Starting in the picturesque village of Hartington, this beautiful 7.8 mile walk follows riverside tracks through the wooded valleys and breathtaking limestone dales.
Grab the 442 High Peak from Hartington, and wander beautiful limestone dales and the River Dove. Avoid traffic completely and walk across the Tissington Trail with peaceful views of the White Peak countryside, bound to look gorgeous in the winter time.
Bakewell to Chatsworth walk

An interesting 6 or 8 mile walk through woods and fields to visit Chatsworth House in its setting beside the River Derwent
Take a lovely stroll along the River Derwent and take a scenic walk by foot up to the beautiful Chatsworth. Bakewell looks very festive this year with lights across the town, the perfect route to take with loved ones this wintertime. There are so many bus links through Bakewell including; 170 Stagecoach, 218, 257 Travel South Yorkshire, 6.1 the sixes.
Heights of Abraham to Matlock walk

Take this short walk from the Peak District Mining Museum at Matlock Bath to Matlock via the Heights of Abraham and Masson Hill.
Served by the X17 Stagecoach and TrentBarton sixes, you will start your journey from Matlock Bath and challenge yourself uphill via the Heights of Abraham and Masson Hill. You will experience gorgeous views whilst avoiding crowds, which is perfect for the wintertime, so you can go at your own pace and take in the spectacular views.
Cromford Mills and Village walk

A delightful 6 mile or 8 mile walk through some of the key places within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
From woodlands to a historic railway, you can explore the key beauty spots of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From Arkwright's First Mill to Riber Castle, the route tells many stories and holds history as far back as Florence Nightingale. You can catch a bus to Cromford Wharf which offers links by X17 Stagecoach and 6.1 the sixes.
Solomon's Temple Circular
