VPDD Banner PEAK CAVERN CONCERT

Show Caves & Caverns

With their amazing rock formations, rare stones and amazing atmospheres they are sure to be a day out that everyone enjoys.

Explore Peak District Caves & Caverns

Peak District caves and caverns are unique places to visit and are one of the most popular things to do in the area. With their amazing rock formations, rare stones and unique atmosphere, the show caverns at Castleton are some of the finest in the UK.

Treak Cliff Cavern is home to remarkable stalactites and stalagmites, which really have to be seen to be believed. Along with Blue John Cavern, this is the only place to find Derbyshire’s semi-precious mineral, Blue John Stone, found nowhere else on earth!

There are also great show caverns to explore at the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath, where the area’s rich mining history is explained by knowledgeable guides who know every nook and cranny of the cavern.

Also not-to-be-missed is Poole’s Cavern in Buxton. This is a fantastic limestone cavern with brilliant crystal stalactites lining the chambers. All of the caverns mentioned below are open to the public, with guided tours and themed events throughout the year.
